Results from 13th December

The Southern Motocross Club is a club with tracks in Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire. They organise between 8-10 quad bike rounds a year during the winter months. This is so riders get the most out of their machines and get to compete in a club environment. All meetings will run in parallel with SMX solos.

There have been some changes to this years championship:

The PRO class is now the EXPERT class and the Support class is now the CLUBMAN class

The stock class has been excluded from the championship due to the amount of quads being manufactured to race standard, we no longer feel it is fair and is near impossible to determine what should be construed as a STOCK machine. Creating a clubman class will allow all machines to compete at a suitable level.

It has also been decided that the Over 35 years of age championship will now become the Over 40s

The club will from now on follow the Southern Motocross Calendar, so you will be given race dates that are available to us and we will only race if the weather is considered favorable. It is highly unlikely that all the dates set out will be suitable; so if we miss a round we move on to the next date on the calendar.

I hope this is clear!!

We hope that these changes will encourage more competitors to take part in the Championship.

Other than that everything is as normal and we expect another great season ahead.

To race in these events riders must have an ORPA licence these are available at £12 yearly or £3 for the day. Membership for 2009-10 series is £35.25 including VAT of £5.25. Races are charged at £35 for members with ORPA licences and £45 for non members including day licence of £3.

All quads must be fitted with a lanyard kill switch, 2 number plates, 1 front facing and 1 rear vertical type visible from both sides and exhausts must be below 94db. This is an adult only club, riders must be over the age of 16; riders under the age of 18 must have ID and be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
